A nationwide poll of Australians shows Peter Jackson's The Lord of the Rings trilogy is their favourite film. It was followed by Amelie, the 2001 comedy about a innocent Parisian girl, the 1982 adventure flick Blade Runner, starring Harrison Ford, and The Shawshank Redemption, which starring Tim Robbins and Morgan Freeman. The 1939 epic Gone With the Wind could manage only No 9.
