Green thumb David Haynes says he's still a beginner in the garden himself. About six years ago, he and his wife, Serena, moved to a property just out of Nelson, and began cultivating their crops.
They now have over 40 different types of produce thriving on their land and are aiming to eat entirely self-sufficiently. Haynes has just released a book, The Beginner's Garden.
