A video gone viral claims that Lipton's Lemon Green Tea is full of worms.
Shared by thousands "grossed out" by the purported discovery, Lipton has responded with their own video, explaining that what look like worms are in fact tiny pieces of lemon.
The original worm video shows a Lipton tea bag being torn open and its contents tipped out on a bench. Extracting tiny pieces from the pile of tea leaves, the narrator states that the substance in question is not herbs or tea, but worms.
After being viewed over 300, 000 times, Lipton responded yesterday with its own video, debunking the claims.
Their video shows the "worms" being separated from the tea leaves before adding them to a cup of hot water. They can be seen instantly dissolving.
So far Lipton's video has been viewed just over 700 times by Facebook users.
