KEY POINTS:
The Big Day Out is set to get a little bit lippy, with the addition of two fast-talking Brit artists to the day's lineup.
Lily Allen and The Streets, aka Mike Skinner, are both set to take the stage during the day-long festival next January, breaking the American stronghold on the international line up.
Brit-rockers Muse were the only British band signed up to the event during last month's initial lineup announcement.
Joining the tour from across the Tasman, Aussie bands the John Butler Trio, Little Birdy and the Presets have also been confirmed in the second announcement.
On the home front, rockers Blindspott and Goodnight Nurse have also got in on the act, as have hip hop acts the Deceptikonz and PNC.
Returning from their London base, New Zealand band The Veils are excited to make their Big Day Out debut next year as they rarely get the chance to perform local gigs.
Bassist Liam Gerrard told nzherald.co.nz he was "tremendously excited" about playing the event.
"Especially in the shadow of a band as influential on all the Veils' lives as Tool," said Gerrard, before adding, "That, and it means another summer away from London misery."
The Killers and Tool have already been announced as headline acts of the day.
A third and final announcement will be made next month confirming the day's complete line-up.
* Big Day Out 2007 will take place on Friday, January 19. Tickets are $110 plus booking fee, on sale from Ticketek, Real Groovy, Sounds and ECM.
