Uber designer Tom Ford is launching his own menswear label. The Texan, who breathed life into an ailing Gucci before leaving in 2004, plans on changing the fashion system, shying away from the catwalk and celebrity path that has previously worked so well for him.
"It's for people who really care about clothes and quality. It could be a guy who's only 20, or it might be a man of 80. Age is not important; it's attitude," he told the Daily Telegraph.
The menswear - including tailored suits, jackets, shirts, accessories, shoes and leather goods - will be produced in partnership with Italian group Ermengildo Zegna. The first shop, on New York's Madison Ave, opens on November 1. All very well for men, but what about us women?
