Writing Korn off as simply nu metal is wrong. They were lumped into the nu metal crowd because it was easy, but Korn were the pioneers, not the followers. In 1994 they released an excellent self-titled debut album - still their best work - that made metal accessible to more people with its melding of hip-hop and extra heaviness. Admittedly it has gotten a little samey in recent years but there is no denying their importance in modern music.
New tracks: Two new covers including the corny version of Cameo's Word Up and Pink Floyd's Another Brick In the Wall (Parts 1, 2, 3), and a remix of Freak On A Leash. Plus there's a DVD of the band live at New York'S CBGBs in 2003.
Key tracks: Not many bands can make a hit out of a 49-second throat wrenching ditty like Twist from the patchy 1996 sophomore album Life Is Peachy. Also check 1994's Blind, 1996's anthem ADIDAS, and 98's Freak On A Leash.
