While they might not seem like the most athletic member of the animal kingdom, the koala in this video reveals an unexpected turn of pace and a heck of a lot of ticker in chasing down a quad bike on an Australian farm.
Posted to Facebook by Ebony Churchill lastweekend, the video shows the seemingly benign marsupial doggedly pursuing the quad bike down a dirt road.
When the bike driver has to stop for a herd of cows, the koala seizes the opportunity to then latch onto the rear left wheel of the vehicle.
The video doesn't reveal the koala's motive for the chase or how the standoff ended, but the lesson is clear for all to see - underestimate the humble koala at your peril.
