Undiscovered Kiwi singers are being given a chance to audition for a part on the reality TV show Rock Star in which musicians vie for a part in a rock "supergroup".
Last year the show helped resurrect the career of Australian band INXS, with Canadian J.D. Fortune winning a spot as the band's lead singer.
Men and women will be able to showcase their talent for scouts at auditions to be held in Auckland early next month.
This year the winner will join Supernova, a newly formed band including Motley Crue drummer Tommy Lee, former Metallica bassist and current Voivod member Jason Newsted, and former Guns 'n' Roses guitarist Gilby Clarke.
"I've toured with both Gilby and Jason. They're incredible musicians and I've always wanted to play with them," says Lee, Motley Crue's wild-man drummer.
"We're going to pull out all the stops to find the most charismatic and musically talented lead singer to front Supernova."
Clarke played with Guns 'n' Roses on its albums "The Spaghetti Incident" and "Live Era '88-'91" and toured with the band on its "Use Your Illusion" tour. Newsted was a member of Metallica for more than a decade and has more recently worked with Ozzy Osbourne and Motley Crue.
Musicians Slash, Macy Gray and Rob Zombie have agreed to appear and the show will feature a guest judge each week. Dave Navarro and Brooke Burke will return as hosts.
Auditions for the show are being held at Galatos bar in Auckland on April 2.
Rock Star will return to TV3 later this year.
