Kiwi influencer and The Diamond Shop owner Sera Cruickshank debuts new relationship with convicted rapist Jamie Foster

An Auckland-based business owner and influencer has debuted a surprise relationship with disgraced ex-police officer Jamie Foster on social media.

Sera Cruickshank, who owns The Diamond Shop in Ponsonby, shared a video on Instagram earlier this month featuring Foster, who was convicted of rape in March 2020.

He has since been released on parole, but must wear an electronic monitoring bracelet on his ankle.

Foster was not named or tagged in the video, which includes clips of the couple spending time together, travelling and playing on the beach with Cruickshank’s children.

Her followers quickly spotted Foster’s ankle bracelet, as did news outlets such as the Daily Mail Australia.

Cruickshank captioned the video, “The contrast that was 2024. Simply the worst and best times of my life. Good morning 2025.”

The mum of two reportedly recently separated from her husband Dan Cruickshank, who she married in 2017.

Friends and followers shared their congratulations on Instagram following the post.

According to the Daily Mail, others were shocked by the new relationship, with one person labelling it “f***ed up” and another commenting that she was “in love with a criminal”.

Cruickshank has not publicly responded to the backlash. The Herald has approached her for comment.

Foster was found guilty of indecently assaulting and sexually violating a female fellow police officer in March 2020 and sentenced to six years' imprisonment.

As reported by the Herald, Foster and his colleagues were staying at a motel in Kerikeri at the time of the assault, assigned to police Waitangi Day events at the Treaty Grounds in 2019.

The group spent time partying and drinking, as seen on CCTV footage. Evidence that Foster had groped and later raped his colleague was accepted by the jury during the trial.

Foster claimed the incident was “consensual” and appealed against his convictions, but his appeal was rejected.

In March 2022, Foster was granted parole after serving a third of his six-year sentence.

When he was released, the Parole Board said his risk of re-offending was “below average”.
