King Kong to premiere in New Zealand

Wellington can again go ape over movie stars on a red carpet. Peter Jackson's $200 million King Kong will have its New Zealand premiere in the capital on December 14.

Better still, it will screen hours before King Kong is released throughout the world.

The world premiere will be in New York on December 15. Hollywood is pinning its hopes on King Kong drawing more people back to cinemas after poorer-than-expected showings for big-budget films this year.
