Kim Basinger new face of Miu Miu

Instead of going for the latest teenage actress to be the face of Miu Miu, the label is opting for the mother in its latest spring/summer campaign. The label is usually thought of as Prada's younger sister, both designed by Miuccia Prada. Not this season though, with 51-year-old actress Kim Basinger as its new face.

Prada was impressed by Basinger's look in the film 8 Mile. "I am always researching new ideas on beauty and femininity and the way it is perceived in contemporary culture," Prada said.

But it's not like Miu Miu is celebrating wrinkles and expanding stomachs. Basinger has the legs of a young Twiggy and it's really hard to imagine she's a day over 20.
