"You're a right joker, you are," Fred said.

When Webley had done all the things he could think of and was really bored, he would lift his tail slightly and make a rude noise. This was when there was a lull in the traffic and it was quiet.

It had an interesting effect.

Little children loved it and laughed. But their mothers would pretend they hadn't heard. Fred would give him a painful jab with his spur.

Webley found this passed the time bearably.
