Every now and then, there are pirates so strong, so sly, so downright stinky-smart, that other pirates avoid them.

Such a pirate was Captain Griselda. Some pirates said there was only one honest thing about Griselda, and that was her right eye. Every time she told a lie, which was quite often, that eye would roll around like a marble in a pan. Which was why she needed to wear a patch over it.

Captain Griselda didn't get invited to many pirate parties. In fact, there weren't many pirate parties in the port of Crossbones because the local pirates didn't know what to do.
