"And get her hair cut," said Mrs O'Brien. "Perhaps we should dye it blond."

"Mum--"

Mr O'Brien stood behind Katrina's chair, then carefully pushed her ears so that they pressed against her head. "What d'you think? Do we need a little operation to pin them back?"

"Maybe we should do something about the nose at the same time."

"Mum, Dad, listen!" Shaking herself free, Katrina stood up. "I don't want to go on a diet, or have my hair dyed blond, and I certainly don't want a new nose. I'm happy the way I am."

"Happy? What on earth has happy got to do with it?" Mr O'Brien frowned. "Don't you want to be a very successful, very rich model?"

"No. It sounds dead boring."

Katrina's parents looked at one another in amazement.

"I'll have you know that modelling is a very skilled job, young lady," said Mr O'Brien.
