Something was different this time, but she wasn't sure what it was.

Suddenly, Jessie felt as though someone was watching her. She turned and found herself face to face with Mr Silas.

He was carrying a screwdriver and a hammer in his hand, and he was staring at Jessie suspiciously. "I thought I heard something out here," he said.

"I've told you before, stay off my property."

"I wasn't doing..." Jessie began, but she couldn't think of what to say next. Mr Silas looked as if he was about to start shouting.

Jessie knew it was impossible to talk sense with Mr Silas.
