LOS ANGELES - Nicole Kidman has given her blessing to Tom Cruise's new hot and heavy relationship with Katie Holmes.
Kidman, who split with Cruise in 2001, says she is happy for her ex-husband.
"Honestly, if Tom's in love I'm so happy for him and that's a very good thing," said Kidman, speaking on US TV talkshow The Late Show with David Letterman.
It was a tough night for the Australian actress as she was peppered with questions about Cruise and her good friend Russell Crowe, who sat in Letterman's hot seat last week, days after he was charged with assault.
"I took it as a cry for help," Letterman said, referring to the phone Crowe threw in a New York hotel lobby, allegedly hitting a concierge in the face.
"Dave, leave me out of it," Kidman pleaded.
"I can be pulled into so many things and I just want to be left out of it."
Kidman did not want to go into too many details about the Crowe incident, but said she supported him.
"I heard what happened and I'm a very good friend of his, one of his best friends I would say," Kidman said.
"You're there for your best friends."
Kidman also revealed her social life is not as interesting as the tabloids make out.
"I'm actually supposedly pregnant to someone," Kidman joked.
"I'm engaged to someone else.
"I'm a busy girl.
"I think I'm also having an affair with someone."
