When KFC created a limited-edition candle that smelt just like the fast food chain's chicken, the internet went in to a frenzy.
Hand made by KFC NZ Digital Marketing Manager, Enna Ye, last December, only a small batch was produced. But now, the candle is back. This time it's being auctioned on Trade Me to raise money for Surf Life Saving New Zealand (SLSNZ).
Part of a KFC pack that includes a $200 KFC voucher, it's hoped the candle will bring in the bids for the charity, along with seven other auction items donated by famous Kiwis.
Kiwi musician, lifeguard and SLSNZ ambassador, Jamie McDell, has donated a harmonica and signed photo while gear from freestyle skier Byron Wells, pro surfer Ella Williams, the Crusaders, the Highlanders, surfer and all round waterman Daniel Kereopa, and Olympic slop style skier Anna Willcox is also up for grabs.
The annual appeal raises money for SLSNZ, with funds needed this year to support the 4,500 volunteer lifeguards on duty over the summer.
