Whale Rider star Keisha Castle-Hughes has signed to star in an Australian movie black comedy, Hey, Hey, It's Esther Blueburger alongside actress Toni Collette.
Written and directed by Cathy Randall, it is the story of a 13-year-old's adventures as she battles the pressures of family, school and her impending bat mitzvah, a spiritual ceremony for Jewish girls coming of age, Variety magazine reported.
Filming will begin in Sydney and Adelaide in October.
