A work of art, created for Canvas magazine's 125th suffrage anniversary edition last month, has raised thousands of dollars for women's charities.
Auckland-based photographer Emma Bass created the work, Kate, after Kate Sheppard and "in honour of the legacy of those women who paved the way for equality and equity".
The work celebrating women of the past is helping Kiwi women in need right now.
Bass created one of 12 limited edition prints of Kate and so far seven copies have sold, meaning the three nominated charities - YWCA, Womens Fund, and The Aunties - each gets $4,083.33.
"I am thrilled that there has been such a positive response to my artwork and it's a great honour to be in a position to be able to contribute all proceeds to the three charities."
