She looked radiant at the BAFTAs over the weekend, and now the Kate Middleton's beauty therapist has revealed that our kitchen cupboards could hold the key to recreating the royal's glow.
Royal beauty therapist Deborah Mitchell demonstrated the techniques she uses on her clients in a royal beauty special on UK show This Morning - which included a sock full of mashed bananas.
Mitchell, 51, who has also worked with the Duchess of Cornwall and actress Gwyneth Paltrow, drew a bath filled with oats and even a chocolate facial on the show, said: "This is something that we can all do at home, with no cost."
Chocolate spread contains moisturizing ingredients like palm oil and essential fatty acids, which Mitchell says helps to keep skin smooth.
"I have used this at home and on some of my clients," she said, "It works well as an exfoliator. The skin after seven days goes moist because of the palm oil. It helps dry skin."
Method
1. Spread the chocolate all over your face using the back of a spoon.
2. Let it dry slightly before gently peeling it off using a rolling motion with your hand.
Porridge oats bath
Named a "Cleopatra Bath" after the Egyptian queen who was famed for bathing in milk, this method involves adding porridge oats to the tub rather than your cereal bowl, which Mitchell says helps to soften the skin.
Method
1. Place a cupful of plain porridge oats into a sock or muslin cloth before tying it around your tap in the bath. This allows the oats' soothing properties to seep into the water.
2. After a long soak, you can use the bag of oats to rub over your body as a natural exfoliator.
Banana and avocado sock exfoliator
To achieve the soft feet worthy of a princess, Mitchell uses a mixture of ripe bananas and avocados spooned into a sock. Avocados are full of natural oils that help moisturize skin, while bananas are rich in potassium to make skin supple.
Mitchell said of the strange method, "The bananas actually exfoliate and dissolve the [dry] skin."
The beauty therapist even recommended using the skin of the banana to rub on corns.
Method
1. Mash a banana and an avocado together into a bowl. 2. Spoon the mixture into a clean sock. 3. Place the sock on your bare feet for 20 minutes before rinsing off the mixture.
Mint imperials lip scrub
For dry lips, Mitchell suggests using some lip balm and crushed up mint imperials or sugar to create a cheap scrub.
Method
1. Scoop a chunk of lip balm from an existing pot and place on the back of your hand. 2. Add crushed up mint imperials or sugar to your hand. 3. Using your finger rub the mixture on to your lips. 4. No need to rub off as it dissolves, leaving behind soft - and minty fresh - lips.
The trick to getting rid of panda eyes, Mitchell says, is coffee and your eye cream. Not only is coffee an anti-inflammatory, it's also rich in anti-oxidants for healthier skin.
Method
1. Add a spoonful of coffee granules to your eye cream. 2. Using the back of a cold spoon press the mixture on to your dark circles. 3. Rinse off.
