The Duchess of Cambridge yesterday said she "would not hesitate" to send her children to therapy if they developed mental health issues.
Writing in an online blog, Kate added that she and Prince William will encourage Prince George, two, and nine-month-old Princess Charlotte to openly 'speak about their feelings' as they grow up.
"William and I would not hesitate to seek help for our children if they needed it," she wrote. "We hope to encourage George and Charlotte to speak about their feelings, and to give them the tools and sensitivity to be supportive peers."
Adding that "for too long [parents] have been embarrassed to admit when our children need emotional or psychiatric help", she said: "We know there is no shame in a young child struggling with...mental illness."
The Duchess, 34, was writing in her role as the guest editor of news website The Huffington Post as it launched a campaign called Young Minds Matter to end the stigma around mental health in children.
