Julia Roberts best-paid actress

Julia Roberts is, by the standards set in Ancient Greece, a demi-goddess. First, she made an entire nation fall in love with her in that rarest of all Hollywood roles, a hooker with a heart of gold, in Pretty Woman.

Then she produced two beautiful twins with hubby Danny Moder.

Now comes a report that when it comes to bankability, no other actress can top her.

The 37-year-old sits atop the Hollywood Reporter's list of highest-paid actresses, receiving $US20 million ($28.1 million) for each film she makes.

Cameron Diaz gets the same pay-cheque, but only got a runner-up nod because she was not on cinema screens this year (though her voice was featured in Shrek 2).

Nicole Kidman, who has an Oscar to go with her big bank account, was in third place, followed by Reese Witherspoon and Drew Barrymore.
