John's big lunch bill

An American who bid US$30,000 ($47,000) to have lunch with actress Jessica Biel has sealed the deal.

The man, identified only as John, lunched with the actress at Denver's Palm restaurant.

Biel agreed to have lunch with the highest bidder as part of a fundraiser for Molly Bloom, an 18-year-old who lost a leg in a May 13 accident.

"John" told reporters he was a senior vice-president for an oil and gas company in Denver.
