She's harassed by fur protesters wherever she goes and some suggest she can't act - but at least Hollywood star Jennifer Lopez knows how to flaunt her New Zealand designer jeans.
J-Lo appeared on the top-rating US show The Late Show with David Letterman this month in a pair of Karen Walker jeans.
She bought the denims at the exclusive boutique Elizabeth Charles in New York and would have paid about US$300 ($414), Ms Walker said.
And while it's not the first time a member of Hollywood's elite has been seen in a Karen Walker design, it was nice to add another big name to the label's celebrity-buyer list.
"Good old J-Lo. It's nice when someone known for their style gives you the thumbs-up," Ms Walker said.
While she couldn't think of any film she had seen starring the actress, she did like her music.
Protesters are less impressed with 35-year-old Lopez after the launch of her "Sweetface" clothing label, which included a line of fur.
At the premiere of her new movie "Monster-in-Law", animal rights' activists declared Lopez the "monster in fur" and have been regularly picketing her public appearances.
