Singer-songwriter and surfer dude Jack Johnson is paddling this way for another tour.
The famously low-key American musician and his three-piece band, who supported Ben Harper here earlier in the year, are coming back to play three New Zealand dates next month. They appear at Auckland's St James on Tuesday, November 11, Wellington's St James the following night and at the Christchurch Town Hall on Friday, November 14.
Support for the tour is Johnson's pro-surfing pal and singer-songwriter Donavon Frankenreiter.
Meanwhile, joining an already busy international touring schedule this month is New York singer-songwriter Jess Malin.
His date at Auckland's Kings Arms on Thursday, October 16 comes on the heels of his debut solo album The Fine Art of Self-Destruction which was produced by celebrated roots-rock troubadour Ryan Adams.
Of his studio client Adams has said: "Jesse Malin's songs are so good they hurt my feelings."
While Malin's publicity says: "Playing and touring across the US since the age of 13, Jesse is a street-wise storyteller, whose characters and slice of life lyrics portray a world of unsung heroes, helpless romantics and rock'n'roll survivors."
