The classic counting rhyme Over in the Meadow has been a favourite with children since the late 19th century, and now New Zealand children can enjoy a uniquely Kiwi version.
Yvonne Morrison has remained faithful to the structure and lilting rhythm of the original but has introduced a selection of New Zealand creatures. The first animal of course is a kiwi. Wetas, huhu beetles and tui are some of the other creatures that appear.
Each is portrayed in an appropriate environment and activity, providing children with the opportunity to learn about and become familiar with native wildlife.
