Hot new bodies is the latest topic of conversation. Well, if you are a reader of the women's magazines, that is.
Celebrities Kirstie Alley, our own Rachel Hunter and Oprah Winfrey feature strongly in the latest editions, showing off their new bodies and the pleasures that come with dramatic weight loss.
Mag favourite Alley adorns the cover of New Zealand's Woman's Weekly showing off her 35kg weight loss. She reveals that she plans to show us more when she models a new, sexy bikini. The loss, courtesy of the Jenny Craig diet, has allowed Alley to indulge in some sweet revenge. A man who once turned her down for a date because she was "too heavy" and he was "into shapes", is suddenly interested. She politely declined with the rejoiner: "I'm into hearts and clearly you don't have one."
While admitting to weighing 67kg now, she rejects media speculation that she had ballooned to 136kg, saying her heaviest was 100kg.
Our Rach seems to be having a fine old time on holiday in Barbados with her new toy-boy, Canadian ice hockey star Jarret Stoll. Woman's Day shows her hamming it up for the cameras in her tiny green g-string and showing the form that first caught the eye of blonde-hunter Rod Stewart.
It seems that a commitment to keeping herself fit and her workout on the American version of Dancing with the Stars has reaped rewards.
New Idea has finally revealed the person behind Oprah Winfrey gaining control of her weight - none other than Friends star and Brad Pitt-reject Jennifer Aniston.
Apparently Aniston has transformed her rebound boyfriend Vince Vaughan from "a chunk to a hunk".
Oprah saw a TV interview with Jen and Vince and could not believe how much the big guy had lost. When she found out the secret was the Zone diet, she went on to it. So the 88kg media star has been rewarded with losing 6kg in six weeks. So, what is the Zone Diet exactly? It consists of low-carbohydrate meals where proteins do not dominate the carbohydrates. This allows dieters to get more energy from carbohydrates rather than from protein or fat. The Zone requires dieters to watch calorie intake.
Speaking of Oprah, the Day reckons that things are not well in her 20-year relationship with Stedman Graham. It seems Oprah is concerned that Graham might reveal her deepest secrets in a tell-all book, which is likely to rocket to the top of the bestseller list.
Oprah is so scared that he will spill the beans that she has tried paying him off. "She slid him some extra money recently in what appears to be a sign that she'll keep the money flowing as long as he never betrays her," the Day quoted a source as saying.
One of the secrets Graham knows about is her eating habits. Apparently he keeps finding empty ice-cream containers hidden at the bottom of the rubbish and cake packages in the garage.
It is still not quite a Nic and Keith-free zone this week with all three magazines carrying something on the new Mr and Mrs Urban. The Weekly says the couple is back from their Bora Bora honeymoon, enjoying quality time in Nashville, while the Day says they are preparing for a teary goodbye when work commitments drag them apart. New Idea says Keith's father, Bob Urbahn (who uses the original spelling of the name), has been branded a walking fire hazard by a former neighbour in Queensland.
Rose King claims the New Zealander has been involved in three fire disasters.
If you are interested in baby stories, the Day has plenty - Stacey Morrison and her Te Karere presenter husband Scotty are eagerly awaiting the birth of their child, Kate Hudson talks about motherhood and Rove says he wants a baby. Not to be outdone, New Idea has an exclusive on Outback Jack's Vadim Dale and his new wife Natalie and their joy at her pregnancy.
