Did there really used to be so much in the gossip mags about babies? As you gossip hounds already know, the Brangelina baby was born yesterday. Baby! screech Woman's Day and New Idea, which hit the newsstands earlier in the day, so sadly it is strictly pre-birth content within. Which should strictly have a gush warning in the Day.
"We love each other, we adore our children and we're looking forward to an exciting, fulfilling life together," Angelina has told a friend.
The four-page spread is fleshed out with a map of the whole continent of Africa to showcase Namibia, the place of the baby's birth, for geographically challenged readers.
New Idea oddly trumpets that it has "breached the tight security to be cribside" in Namibia but then offers no evidence of having done so.
Well, welcome to the world anyway, Shiloh Nouvel Jolie-Pitt. See you next week, no doubt.
New Idea also dumps all over new mum Katie Holmes and runs a photo of her with her maternity bra flapping open, looking "pale and bedraggled".
It also goes for the jugular - zooming in for a close-up on her post-baby tummy. A year ago, she "had the world at her feet" but now she's gone from "fab to drab".
But to be fair to New Idea, Tom is bagging her too. "He has such high expectations it's as if he expects her to be back to normal within a fortnight!" complains a Katie loyalist.
And it's all about babies elsewhere in the mag too. Posh Spice is jealous of Geri Spice's girl baby. Britney nearly dropped her baby. Nicollette Sheridan wants a baby.
The Woman's Weekly offers respite from all this baby talk and shares a tale about Posh Spice getting annoyed at Fergie fluttering eyelashes at Becks. That's Sarah Ferguson, not Alex.
"Fergie was flirting with David, being very tactile and giggly and swishing her hair." Victoria shot daggers at her guest, but sadly, it didn't get to the "catfight" stage the magazine cover promises.
And to round off the baby blitz the Day predicts Nicole Kidman is pregnant to fiance Keith Urban.
