Review: Ewan McDonald
Another Kevin Costner baseball movie. After Bull Durham and Field Of Dreams, surely this is "Strike 3 ... you're out!"
Costner plays Billy Chapel, 40-year-old pitcher for the Detroit Tigers, facing retirement at the end of a mediocre season. For more than two hours (yes, longer than your average game) the movie lumbers between now and five years ago, his career and its parallels in his relationship with his girlfriend (Kelly Preston).
Will he pitch the perfect game and save the relationship? Will he give away a home run in the last innings while the girl disappears? Will you care?
