The third in the series offering easy-listening-for-the-ironically-hip does its best to keep up the quality control in its selection of lounge-friendly pop of vintage cool. But what a pity compilers Peter Urlich and Simon Grigg thought it a good idea to include the truly teeth-rotting My Eyes Adored You by Frankie Valli and the hilariously awful Summer (The First Time) — Bobby Goldsboro's tale of being deflowered by an older woman.
As well there are a few tracks we don't ever need to hear again (The Pink Panther theme, the Righteous Brothers' You've Lost That Loving Feeling and Sammy Davis jnr's The Candyman).
Still, it's got dishy tracks by Julie London (Black Coffee), Serge Gainsbourg and Brigitte Bardot (Bonnie and Clyde) and Jose Feliciano's classic version of California Dreaming to offset its lapses in taste.
