This soundtrack is better suited to the queer guys or the women who try to get their partners to watch five gay men transform a style-deficient bloke's bloke on TV.
From Widelife's diva-led disco opening track to the closing number by Elton John it's a sophisticated yet flamboyant package, just like the show's experts. And it wouldn't be a truly fabulous compilation without that very-now single, Superstar by R&B "It" girl Jamelia or sultry dancefloor remixes of Duran Duran, Sting, Fischerspooner and Kylie.
But towards the end the prevalent funk bass and theatrical vocals make way for guitars as the surprisingly punk Ok Go's You're So Damn Hot and some rock-femme vexing from Liz Phair on Extraordinary amp up the testosterone. The Fab Five would be proud.
