(Herald rating: * * *)
Another late-night jazz collection — this compiled locally — which features the low and melodic sax sounds of Gerry Mulligan (Night Lights), Stan Getz with Astrud Gilberto, Coleman Hawkins and John Coltrane alongside the king of ennui, trumpeter Chet Baker, pianists McCoy Tyner (Satin Doll) and Oscar Peterson (Everytime We Say Goodbye) and other dim light sounds. It isn't intended to put you to sleep but get you to bed and, given a few additional ambient touches of your own, it is doubtless highly functional in that regard.
