Another lavishly packaged com-pilation from the Sheffield-based superclub, the "44 massive dance hits and future hits" on two CDs have quite a few tracks in common with last year's Gatecrasher Global Sound System collection.
But maybe that's because this is designed as a retrospective of the club music year that was — so the first CD is strong on year 2000 dancepop hits and remixes of the same from the likes of Fatboy Slim (a drastic Darren Emerson remix of Sunset Bird of Prey), Spiller (Groovejet), Bob Sinclar (I Feel For You), Moby (Natural Blues, yet again), Moloko (The Time is Now), all ending rather elegantly on William Orbit's electronica-classical take on Barber's Adagio for Strings.
The 20 tracks of CD2 go for longer-duration house and trance workouts, the highlights including the Sasha and Emerson's Scorchio, Sister Bliss' Sister Sister, and possibly reprising last year's Sydney Olympic spirit for clubland, yet another remix of Yothu Yindi's Treaty — one track which at least lives up to this collection's title.
