Don't quite know how this lot is 'deconstructed' exactly, but this, a chill-out collection for people who still like singing, choruses and proper chord changes, certainly takes a fairly broad interpretation of the term 'acoustic'. It's any song that starts off with a voice and acoustic guitar or piano and doesn't get too excited along the way.
Its 18 tracks lean towards bittersweet British tunefulness (Radiohead, Coldplay, Supergrass, Badly Drawn Boy, Oasis) but include some odd and creaky bedfellows (Nick Cave's Into My Arms, Bob Dylan's Shooting Star and Lou Reed's Coney Island Baby up alongside the Cowboy Junkies' version of his Sweet Jane) as well as dreamy pop gals (Dido, Beth Orton, Sarah McLachlan). Nice enough, even if it has the feel of something that would come free with a magazine.
