Kiwi model Kylie Bax is expecting her third child after suffering a devastating miscarriage last year.
The Thames-born 36-year-old is due to give birth to her third daughter in late November and told the Herald she was delighted.
The 1.8m beauty married Greek fashion photographer Spiros Poros in 2005 and they have two daughters, Lito, born in 2004, and Dione, born in 2007. The family is based in Greece.
Bax revealed yesterday that the pregnancy was "kind of a shock".
"We had a miscarriage last year and it took me another year to get pregnant," she said.
"I found out my hormonal problem was the reason for the miscarriage which was when I was nine weeks pregnant."
Bax said that while the miscarriage was tragic, she felt everything in life happened for a reason.
"We hesitated to tell the girls [Dione and Lito] until I was past the first trimester. They are very caring and Dione even 'feeds the baby' by giving me food. 'Mum, here, eat this, it's for the baby,' she says."
Bax took a break from her high-profile modelling career after the birth of her first two daughters.
But last year she returned to the industry in spectacular form - gracing the pages of Italian Vogue.
The mother-of-two was photographed in New York on March 18 by Steven Klein - famous for his work with Madonna, Brad Pitt, Britney Spears and Lady Gaga.
Since becoming pregnant for a third time, Bax has turned down a number of modelling jobs.
"I never feel comfortable modelling when I'm pregnant, even if I'm not showing. I got very bad morning sickness this time around. I also discovered that I have a hormone imbalance which means I have to be on progesterone during this pregnancy."
Instead of taking to the runway and donning haute couture, she would focus on her children's boot line, based in Christchurch.
"And we are thinking of where I will actually give birth, she said.
"Maybe Downunder ..."
