By MARGIE THOMSON
A beautiful, illustrations based book for dinosaur enthusiasts, in which a tuatara narrator takes us through the breakup of the original continent Pangaea into Gondwanaland and Laurasia, and the evolution of dinosaurs over about 210 million years.
Children will love the different levels of Looking for Larry, which offers not only the rather thin storyline, but pages of vibrant illustrations in which readers are encouraged to find tuatara hidden among teeming throngs of dinosaurs.
On the macro scale, Baynton also provides an overview of the passing of time, the changing of land masses, the evolution and dying out of species. An illustrative tour de force.
