We came here so we could sit outside in the sun. It didn't last but the fireplace and outdoor heater kept the courtyard cosy.
Parking was around the back but we walked.
We walked in and immediately thought it looks a lot different to when it's crammed full of party-goers on a Friday night.
The most unusual thing on the menu was not evident, it's all pretty safe.
We ordered the vegetarian breakfast ($19.50) and the eggs benedict ($12.50) with a hash brown on the side ($3.50). The vege came out on a long plate, piled high with eggs, wholegrain toast, roasted vine tomatoes, a huge wedge of sliced avocado, bright green spinach, delicious balsamic portobello mushrooms and a little pottle of muesli with yoghurt and milk. It would've been excellent if the savoury stuff had been hot. Alex's bene was very good although the sourdough became a tad soggy with hollandaise. The "hash" arrived as a pretty bowl of fried potatoes.
The coffee was a bit mild for our tastes.
The service was welcoming and friendly. We were a bit put out that the sports star at the next table was served his food before we were, despite ordering well after we did.
We recommend if you come here wear your aviators, bring your puppies and prepare to see and be seen.
Overall we thought the food was tasty but not as memorable as their after-hours menu.
