KEY POINTS:
Innovative chefs should be gearing themselves up for the 10th annual Monteiths Beer and Wild Food Challenge. There are two categories in the competition - restaurants and fine dining establishments have to produce a formal two-course meal, whereas pubs and clubs make an informal single course. Both categories must use a range of wild food, defined as anything not raised on a farm, and match it with one of Monteiths' six beers. The North Island challenge runs from July 22 to August 12.
