Having finally made a commercial mark with the Stonesy and jingle-friendly track Bohemian Like You (it sells cars, it sells phones, it just sells), the Dandy Warhols' fourth will probably be the soundtrack to many an ad exec's pitch meeting.
For the rest of us, Monkey House's obvious electro-pop and glam-rock urges are enjoyable enough the first few times through care of its self-conscious 80s echoes - Duran Duran's Nick Rhodes is behind the desk and Simon Le Bon adds backing vocals.
And elsewhere, Hit Rock Bottom (produced by long-time Bowie collaborator Tony Visconti) is as good a T-Rex tribute as you'll hear this month.
But even with that clever pastiche of a cover suggesting the contents aren't to be taken seriously, the novelty soon wears off.
