Beautifully produced and comprehensive, this is a great pocket guide to keep on hand for any outdoor excursion.
It includes birds, mammals, amphibians, reptiles, fish and invertebrates.
Every entry includes a photo and highly readable text, and a little map showing where the creature can be found.
The only complaint is its rather confusing structure, which follows a loose logic of category but doesn't adhere to any accepted methods of alphabetical order, for instance.
The clarity of the accompanying photos to some extent offsets this problem and the book remains a great little guide.
