This cosmopolitan picture book was a finalist in this year's New Zealand Post Book Awards.

Henry and Zoe, together with their cat Balthus, have just arrived in a new city, in a new country. Although the place isn't named, the delightful pictures suggest they have settled in Italy.

While Zoe goes to work, Henry and Balthus venture into town to go shopping in the local market.

Henry cannot speak the language and ends up buying enough delicious food to feed his small family for a week.

Rather than let the food go to waste, he invites the neighbours (and their cats) for dinner.

The joyful illustrations beautifully capture both the characters and the setting in this charming story about the pleasures of living abroad, even when you can't speak the local lingo.
