This season the stores will stock Wang's main line, his T by Alexander Wang line as well as handbags and shoes. Go shopping!
Sugar Ray gets wise
Boxer Sugar Ray Leonard was in town recently, and while he was here he showed some love for local shirt label 3 Wise Men, visiting the High St store and buying 14 shirts. Now that's a big fan.
Top with tongs
Auckland hairdresser Paula Satterthwaite, who manages ME salon in Ponsonby, is in New York for its Fashion Week. The first of the "big four" international fashion weeks, the New York shows winds up just as ours begins.
Satterthwaite is helping style for Australian label Willow as part of her prize for last month being named overall winner of the ghd Expert Awards in Brisbane. She beat top hairdressers from both sides of the Tasman to be named Expert of the Year. Natalie Nairn of Dharma salon was a finalist, meaning two of the top three were Kiwis, and Nairn also won category prizes for Editorial and Catwalk Styling and Best Street Fashion. Toshiro Takeda of ME and Jason Potter of Buoy in Wellington were category finalists.
Satterthwaite is working alongside top Australian session stylist Renya Xydis at the Willow show, which is on today.
An overseas trip was also the reward for hair industry magazine publishers, Sheryl Binnie and Lex Buckley, whose Images magazine was named winner of the Intercoiffure Mondial Press Award. The pair accepted the award in France over the weekend, Binnie saying: "We were absolutely delighted to be given the news - we love putting the magazine out and all the hard work over the last seven years has now culminated in this very real triumph."

Ungaro picks Lohan
French fashion house Ungaro has a new artistic adviser - none other than Lindsay Lohan. The actress - perhaps better known these days for her tabloid antics - will work alongside newly appointed designer Estrella Archs, who has replaced Esteban Cortazar. As part of her new position, Women's Wear Daily reports that Lohan will "do trunk shows, make appearances and be where the activities of the brand are". However, she won't appear in the ad campaigns. Lohan and Archs will showcase their new collection at Paris Fashion Week on October 4.
