KEY POINTS:
The Twilight movie franchise is in a bit of trouble - the fragrance they released looked suspiciously like one already released by fashion house Nina Ricci (both were blood red and apple shaped), and now Ricci is taking them to court. Oops!
On the net
Top skincare brand Dermalogica has always sold its products only in leading beauty salons and its year-old concept store in Westfield's Albany Mall, but now you can buy online at www.dermalogica.co.nz. Dermalogica recommends you get a personal consultation first though, but says it's taking to the net in response to consumer demand and to provide an official outlet - and so guard against the online risk of counterfeit goods being shipped to unwary customers from non-official sites. Nutrimetics is another beauty brand to have recently launched its own website for sales. See www.nutrimetics.co.nz
Karen's lovely fan
We are slightly obsessed with Zooey Deschanel. She acts, sings, and dresses so damn cute. So we were rather excited to see she's been photographed wearing Karen Walker, not once, but twice. Deschanel has been snapped looking adorable in Walker's red Peter Pan collared coat, and on a separate occasion, Walker's white pin tucked blouse. We also highly recommend Deschanel's new film Yes Man, if only to see her sing about hacking into an ex-boyfriend's MySpace page. Trust us, it's funny.
Stain solution
OPI has developed a polish remover called Expert Touch, aimed at ridding nails of the fashionable darker shades that prove tricky to wipe off. It also nourishes cuticles. It's $18 and available from selected pharmacies and salons.
