Return to the 90s
The word "trackpants" doesn't really conjure up images of style, but Barkers are set to change that by embracing an old favourite. Nearly half a million pairs of the icon Barkers trackpant sold in the 90s. The old classic comes in two shades, indigo and charcoal, and is available from Barkers stores and online at www.barkersonline.co.nz.
Eye to eye
We've noticed a mini eyewear trend recently - two-tone sunglasses. We've spotted them on stylish girls around town, as well on a few celebs (think Chloe Sevigny). But not just any colour will do; if you want to do it right they must be clear and black. These Ray-Ban Wayfarers do the job nicely. $280, from Sunglass Hut.
Bargain city
Federation is holding a special end-of-season factory sale, with seconds, samples and end-of-line stock available. Pieces from all of their lines will be for sale, including Federation, For Good and their super-cute kidswear range, Minti. The sale starts on Friday until Sunday at their flagship store in Britomart, ph (09) 303 3133.
Shop it
The sister (or brother?) store of one of our favourite Auckland boutiques has moved - but only next door. Store Room, which used to be part of the boutique Made, has moved into the space vacated by the Gubb & Mackie store on Customs St. The owners decided to expand - so now there's more room to shop for brands like Huffer, Insight and more.
Thinking of others
This week is Hospice Awareness Week and their campaign "Living Every Moment" is a reminder for us all to think about how good it feels to share everyday moments with people we care about. Visit www.hospice.org.nz for inspiration.
