The Royal New Zealand Ballet is auctioning off more than 100 costumes from past productions, including those from The Nutcracker, Swan Lake and Coppelia. The Newmarket Business Association has launched the inaugural Newmarket Young Fashion Designer Award, which gives designers between the ages of 15 and 18 the chance to work backstage at Karen Walker's next New York Fashion Week show. The winner will also receive a 12-month scholarship at Whitecliffe College of Arts & Design, and a two-week design assistant internship in the Taylor workroom. Registration closes on June 30.
