KEY POINTS:
Too cute for words Awww, they're just so adorable. That's the reaction your animal-loving friends are bound to have when they see the organic cotton T-shirt you just bought from The Body Shop. The shirts feature cute drawings courtesy of dog and cat owner, designer Karen Walker, and will cost $40 with half of that money going to the World Society for the Protection of Animals. It's all about ending cruelty to animals this week, being World Animal Week. It's also about raising awareness of a petition to support a Universal Declaration on Animal Welfare at the United Nations. For more on this, see www.wspa.org.nz. Woof!
Charitable hairstyling
We've seen a giant pile of pink products come over the Viva desks recently, all benefiting Breast Cancer Research in New Zealand. Two of the most notable are the ghd hairstylers, where a special Hot Pink edition is being launched at the beginning of October. From each styler sold, $30 will be donated to the New Zealand Breast Cancer Foundation. Phone 0800 HAIR GHD (0800 424 744) for your nearest stockist.
Nokia has enlisted the aid of local designer Trelise Cooper to come up with a limited edition Nokia 6085 handset, complete with a Cooper-designed phone purse, also to raise funds for The Breast Cancer Research Trust.
The phone, which will be a subtle champagne colour, will be available from Vodafone dealers this month and will retail for around $249, $20 of which will be donated to the Breast Cancer Research Trust.
