What's the best thing about being a hairdresser?
Meeting many different people from all walks of life. It is a very social career and one that provides me with the opportunity to meet some amazing personalities.
What do you wish people would understand about the job?
Many people don't understand the amount of hard work you have to put in to become successful. It is an extremely competitive industry and one that is constantly changing and developing.
Is there a quick-fix solution for a bad hair day?
Don't stress about it. Keep some hairspray on hand and twist into a stylish up-do. If your hair is long, wash and style the fringe and pin the rest back.
What are the biggest hair crimes someone can commit?
Combing out a perm, trimming your own hair and not communicating with your hairdresser.
The best thing you can do for your hair?
Regularly use a conditioning mask to nourish and protect it from the elements. It's also good to cut it regularly to keep it looking healthy and in top condition. Treat your hair with respect and follow your hairdresser's advice.
Who has got the best hair?
Cate Blanchett, Uma Thurman and Victoria Beckham.
Anyone whose hair you'd really like to get your hands on?
I'd love to work on Angelina Jolie's hair. I think it's got heaps of potential which hasn't been realised.
Is there a new Jennifer Aniston style?
Get it at the Beckham's house - David for him and Victoria for her.
What's going to be hot for our summer, so we can start growing now?
Stylish up-dos like coifs and buns with head bands and accessories. Also, 40s to 60s styles with full volume and shine and undercut for texture and edge.
How often should we shampoo?
As much as you like. Good quality products are very gentle nowadays so it doesn't do your hair any harm to wash it regularly.
And for styling, how many products do we really need?
I would say the essential products are one for hold and another one for finish. You want the finished look to be light, flexible and sensual.
