Following on from Season of Figs, this picks up Wilson's story as a teenager in Turkey, and her migration first to England and then to New Zealand.
She has lived a rich life - director of training of the Rotorua Playcentre movement, gaining a postgraduate degree, teaching, and then marrying a diplomat and embarking on years of excitement, glamour and travel - and it is told here in fragmented but colourful style.
It's like reading a letter from a friend, or eavesdropping on a conversation.
There's a pleasing circularity between the title and the photo of the silver-haired, grandmotherly figure beneath it.
