I grew up on a farm on the Kaipara Harbour, among the third generation of Linnells to love the space and freedom a country lifestyle brings - building huts, camping, swimming the horses at the beach, feeding out hay, mustering sheep, being called from the dark for dinner. My imagination was fuelled always by endless books and the flow of visitors from the city.
Not all of us are blessed with happy childhoods and homes, but as photographer Harriet Were, fashion designer Ingrid Starnes and gallerist Anna Miles share, those things form the foundation of who we are as adults. Here's to the little people in our lives and giving them the freedom, inspiration and opportunities they all deserve.
