Peter Gordon's ideas that turn soup in to hearty meals in a bowl have come at just the right time for me. I would prefer to be curled up on the sofa by the fire on these cooler, darker evenings eating dinner from a bowl than sitting at the table. Tonight we shall be tucking in to "the Sunday roast that keeps on giving". Why have I not done this before? Thanks Peter. If you have no leftovers, a bowl of creamy cauliflower soup with blue cheese and thyme may be your soup of the day.
Everyone who dines at Parnell's Baruhlo restaurant says very good things. Ray McVinnie loves it and spent some time chatting with chef/owners Nico and Sarah in their kitchen as they made three favourite recipes to share with us. Moqueca (a Brazilian fish stew), roast carrots with chickpea puree - a favourite tapa on the Baruhlo menu, and South America's favourite biscuit, alfajores.
Warren Elwin has the oven on for a warming set of one-dish bakes, the grilled fish and greens is appealing to me right now. The fruit cobbler too. For more of a special occasion dessert Megan May's raw cacao and espresso tart is suitably indulgent. Don't forget to send us your favourite slow-cooked recipe and be in to win our favourite Fagor Duo pressure cooker.
